Communities Foundation of Texas is proud to salute “The Hoglund Foundation” 2005 Outstanding Foundation of The Year

Forrest and Sally Hoglund met at The University of Kansas. After graduation, Forrest worked for Exxon Corporation for twenty years before joining Texas Oil and Gas as President and CEO. He is the retired Chairman of the Board of EOG Resources, one of the most active drillers of gas wells in the U.S. and Canada. Currently, Forrest is Chairman and CEO of SeaOne Maritime Corporation, a new company that transports liquefied, compressed natural gas. The Hoglunds remain active community volunteers in Dallas and Houston. They are currently Chairs of the Leadership Council for the new Dallas Museum of Nature & Science. Their three daughters, Kelly Compton, Shelly Dee and Kristy Robinson, are atively involved in The Hoglund Foundation.
The Hoglund Foundation was established in 1989 to use the resources and abilities of the extended family of Forrest and Sally Hoglund to generate and support activities that can make a positive difference in the lives of others. The primary focus of The Hoglund Foundation is to promote interests and entities in education, health science and services, and children’s health and development. Priority is given to organizations and programs that: 1) nurture, recognize and reward individual initiative and responsibility, 2) are innovative and promote creative solutions, 3) have sound management and are efficient in the management of fund, and 4) are collaborative in nature so that resources are shared and the impact of the grant is multiplied in the community.
The geographic focus of The Hoglund Foundation is Dallas and Houston, Texas. Over the last fifteen years, The Hoglund Foundation has grown dramatically and is having a significant impact on the Dallas and Houston communities.
